Arrival transfer
Rome Fiumicino (FCO) → the centro storico: the Leonardo Express (~€14, 32 min to Termini) then a short taxi/Metro, or a fixed-fare car (~€55, ~45 min). Between cities: Frecciarossa Rome → Florence (~€35–60, 1h35 - book ahead).
Getting around
Both centres are walkable; in Rome a contactless tap on metro/bus is ~€1.50/ride. Skip a car in the cities - ZTL fines and parking aren't worth it.
